ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT:
THE IMPROVEMENT OF ORANGE AVENUE, FROM APPROXI-
MATELY 1255FEET WEST OF EUCLID STREET TO
APPROXIMATELY 1554 FEET WEST OF EUCLID STREET,_
IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM JOB NO. 916
RESOLUTION NO. 64R -871
APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES, D WINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI-
FICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City
of Anaheim, to wit:
The Improvement of Orange Avenue, from approxi-
mately 1255 feet west of Euclid Street to
approximately 1554 feet west of Euclid Street,
in the City of Anaheim, consisting of excava-
tion, including haulaway and disposal; construc-
tion of asphalt concrete pavement, aggregate
base, A.C.C. curb, gutter and driveways;
removal of trees and Portland Cement Concrete
driveways, and appurtenant work as more
particularly set forth in the plans and
specifications on file in the Office of the
City Clerk or City Engineer, Job No. 916.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public
Works De artment to prepare detailed designs,
plans, pro i es, rawings an specifications, and estimates of
quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said Public Works De•artment has
prepared said detailed esigns, p. ans, pro. es, •rawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi-
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved.
NOW THERE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings end specific ttions for said public improve-
ment her°einabove me t i,ed and described, be, •.nd the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
Works Department
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
ment shr?11 be c cr st t:t ed in .accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said Public Works De artment and hereby
approved, and su.h adde;da, or modi .ications thereto as may be
approved prier to the aw,a.rding ef bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER' RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to publish a notice according to 1 ;aw, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all utilities and transp rtatiom, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all, work necessary to
construct and complete, ins a good and workmanlike manner, in
strict accord:,nce with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and specifications as prepared by said Public

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
with the City of Anaheim in the manner and. form approved by
the City Attorney of the Cite of Anaheim for the construction,
installation and complet,ion, of said public improvement herein
above mentioned and described, in aceordan, e with the plans
and specifications prepared by said. Public Works De artment
the notice inviting sealed proposals, this re_it ution an al
applicable City Crdinannes or Cede Sections and the 1. ws of the
State of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
insurance in the amo°uvAs and within the time e required by law,
as specified in the notice inviting sealed, proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
