91-009 RESOLUTION NO. 91R-9
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE
COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN
THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING
PROGRAM CERTAIN HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT
PROJECTS (1991-1992).
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve the
following streets:
Magnolia Avenue - North city Limits to La Palma Avenue
Ball Road - Sunkist Street to the Santa Ana River
Lincoln Avenue - Rio Vista Street to Sunkist Street
Magnolia Avenue - Crescent Avenue to Lincoln Avenue
Anaheim Boulevard - Cerritos Avenue to Ball Road
Ball Road - Brookhurst Street to Euclid Street; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned streets are important
arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest;
and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the Improvements,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends, by appropriate
action, to provide in the County of the Special Road Improvement
Fund for the Fiscal Year 1991-1992 a sum of money for the
improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County
in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing
Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim, that the City of Anaheim requests, and it does
hereby request, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to
allocate to the City of Anaheim, from County funds, the amounts set
forth below, said amounts to be matched by funds from said City, to
be used to aid said City in the improvement of the streets set
forth herein and the specific amounts in connection with each
project are as set forth below:
$109,000.00 Magnolia Avenue - North city Limits to Sunkist
Street
This is a street reconstruction project to
improve the road surface conditions and restore
the structural integrity.
$354,000.00 Ball Road - Sunkist Street to the Santa Ana
River bridge.
This is a joint street reconstruction project
with the County of Orange to improve the road
surface and to upgrade the traffic signal at
the intersection of Ball Road and Sunkist
Street.
$182,000.00 Lincoln Avenue - Rio Vista Street to Sunkist
Street
This is a reconstruction street project to
improve the road surface conditions and restore
the structural integrity.
$104,000.00 Magnolia Avenue - Crescent Avenue to Lincoln
Avenue
This is a street rehabilitation project to
improve the road surface conditions and to
extend the service life of the pavement.
$448,000.00 Anaheim Boulevard - Cerritos Avenue to Ball
Road
This is a street reconstruction and storm drain
project to improve the road surface and extend
an existing storm drain to prevent potential
flooding of the street.
$324,000.00 Ball Road - Brookhurst Street to Euclid Street
This is a street reconstruction project to
improve the road surface and restore structural
integrity.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said works as
set forth above are in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this resolution that the
City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial
Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the
cost of improvements and rights-of-way will be available for the
Fiscal Year 1991-1992.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim thislSth day of January , 1991.
