1965-422WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange, by resolution dated October 20, 1964, requested a
future grade separation for Orangewood Avenue at its crossing
of the Route 57 Freeway, 07- ORA -57; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the State of California
have heretofore entered into a Freeway Agreement dated November 4,
1959 relating to the portion of Route 57 Freeway, State Highway
Road 07- ORA -19 (Now designated 07- ORA -57) between the Anaheim
City Limits near the Santa Ana River and the Anaheim Placentia
City Limits near La Jolla Street; and
WHEREAS, further engineering studies indicate that
the following revision is desirable, to wit:
Connections to the Route 57 Freeway at Orangewood
Avenue as shown on the attached print labeled
Exhibit "A dated June 2, 1965, and made a part
hereof; and
WHEREAS, Section 100.2 of the Streets and Highways
Code provides that no city street, county road, or other public
highway of any kind shall be opened into or connected with any
freeway unless and until the California Highway Commission adopts
a resolution consenting to the same and fixing the terms and
conditions on which such connection shall be made;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the City Council hereby requests
the proposed revision set forth hereinabove, it being under-
stood that a revised freeway agreement incorporating said
revision is to be entered into at some future date.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the California State
Division of Highways be, and it is hereby, requested to present
to the California Highway Commission this request for the con-
sent to and the provisions of connections between the said
proposed extension of Orangewood Avenue and the Freeway, State
Highway Route 57.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 8th day of June, 1965.
