A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT:
THE IMPROVEMENT OF MILLER STREET, FROM MIRALOMA
AVENUE TO ORANGETHORPE AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM, PROJECT NO. 151 -A.
APPROVING THE DESIGNS, PLANS, PROFILES, DRAWINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS, SPECI-
FICATIONS, ETC.; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City
of Anaheim, to wit:
The improvement of Miller Street, from Miraloma Avenue to
Orangethorpe Avenue, in the City of Anaheim, consisting of
excavation, haulaway and disposal; construction of asphalt
concrete pavement, aggregate base, P.C.C. curb and gutter,
P.C.C. commercial drive, P.C.C. irrigation line, standard
Catch Basin No. 1, 18 and 24 -inch R.C.P., automatic flap
gate, P.C.C. steps, P.C.C. collar, paddle boards, survey
monument and chain link fence; compacted embankment,
select material; removal of pavement and A.C. berm; applica-
tion of prime coat; clearing and grubbing; reconstruction
of 36 -inch standard pipe; removal of wood shed, existing
P.C.C.. irrigation line, existing 24 -inch C.M.P. and miscel-
laneous highway facilities; salvage and relocate wood, brick
and chain link fences,and appurtenant work as more parti-
cularly set forth in the plans and specifications on file
in the Office of the City Clerk or City Engineer, Project
No. 151 -A.
AND WHEREAS, the City Council instructed the Public
Works Department to prepare detailed designs,
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications, and estimates of
quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said ublic Works Department has
prepared said detailed des plans, profiles, drawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment hereinabove mentioned nd described, be and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said public
Works Department
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED th t s id public improve-
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings ::end specifications as
prepared by s -yid Public Works De artment and hereby
approved, and such addenda or mo i scat ons thereto as may be
approved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Arreheim be, :Nnd she is hereby, authorized nd directed
to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of ,11 plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and :11 utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
strict accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings ,:and specifications as prep:: red by said Public Works

the public improvement hereinabove
mentioned and described, and fixing the 2 3rd day of
Dec mber 19 65 ;t the hour of 00 o'clock P.M. as
the date and hour for the opening of said bids at the City
Council Ch =tuber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
that s: id notice shall be published twice, the first of which
publications shall be ,,t least ten (10) days prior to the date
fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
shall be at least five (5) days p :art.
AND BE IT FUR ;:`:R RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
with the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
installation and completion of said public improvement herein
above mentioned and described, in .:?ccordance with the plans
and specifications prepared by said
the notice inviting sealed proposals, t;is resin ution an a
applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the l :ws of the
State of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
insurance in the :_.mounts and within the time required by law,
as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
