3727FOLLOWS: ORDINANCE NO. 3727 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF A14AHEIM REPEAL- ING TITLE 14, CHAPTER 14.48 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADOPTING A NEW TITLE 14, CHAPTER 14.48 IN ITS PLACE AND STEAD. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS SECTION 1. That Title 14, Chapter 14.48 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby, repealed. SECTION 2. That Title 14, Chapter 14.48 be, and the same is hereby, added to the Anaheim Municipal Code to read as follows: "CHAPTER 14.48 THROUGH TRUCK ROUTES Section 14.48.010 'TRUCK' DEFINED For the purpose of this chapter, a truck is a motor vehicle designed, used or maintained primarily for the transportation of property, and having an unladen weight of six thousand (6,000) pounds or more. Section 14.48.020 CHAPTER NOT APPLICABLE TO SMALL TRUCKS Nothing contained in this chapter shall apply to motor vehicles having an unladen weight of less than six thousand (6 , 0 0 0 ) pounds. Section 14.48.030 DEVIATION FROM ROUTE FOR LOAD- ING OR UNLOADING Nothing contained in this chapter shall be deemed to prohibit the operator of any truck traversing any of the hereinafter designated truck routes from leaving such route for the purpose of loading or unloading said truck at a point off of said route; provided that such devia- tion for the purpose of such loading or unloading shall be had over a route which keeps the distance traveled off of any designated truck route at a minimum. Section 14.48.040 ERECTION OF SIGNS The Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized to cause the posting of appropriate signs along the truck routes designated herein. This chapter shall become effective upon the posting of said signs. -1- Section 14.48.050 THROUGH TRUCK ROUTES Except as otherwise provided in this Chapter, it shall be unlawful for any operator of a truck to operate said truck on or along any street or route in the City of Anaheim other than those hereinafter set forth. The provisions of this section shall not apply to passen- ger buses under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission. Freeways: .010 Santa Ana Freeway (1-5) from northerly City limits to southerly City limits .020 Riverside Freeway (91) from westerly City limits to easterly City limits .030 Orange Freeway (57) from northerly City limits to southerly City limits State Highways: .040 Beach Boulevard (39) from northerly City limits to southerly City limits .050 Imperial Highway (90) from northerly City limits to Riverside Freeway .060 Lincoln Avenue (214) from westerly City limits to Santa Ana Freeway .070 State College Boulevard (250) from northerly City limits to southerly City limits City Streets: .08.0 Ball Road from westerly City limits to to easterly City limits .090 Euclid Street from northerly City limits to Lincoln Avenue .100 Katella Avenue from Santa Ana Freeway to easterly City limits .110 Kraemer Boulevard from northerly City limits to Riverside Freeway -2- .120 .130 Section 14.48.060 Lincoln Avenue from State College Boulevard,to easterly City limits Tustin Avenue from northerly City limits to Riverside Freeway LIMITED TRUCK ROUTE It shall be unlawful for any operator of a truck to operate said truck on or along the following designated limited truck routes for any purpose other than to pick up or deliver goods or materials. SECTION 3. .010 Anaheim Boulevard - Harbor Boulevard (Ora 72) from northerly City limits to Santa Ana Freeway." SEVERABILITY The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby declares that should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this chap- ter of the Code, hereby adopted, be declared for any reason to be invalid, it is the intent of the Council that it would have passed all other portions of this chapter independent of the elimination herefrom of any such portion as may be declared invalid. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this or- dinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within fifteen (1.5) days after its adoption in the Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after its final passage, it shall take effect and be in full force.
