THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIL CITY OF A14AFILIE. DOPES ORDAIN
-IS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 -
That Title 4 of tiie Anaheirt-, _,1unicipai Code be, and the
same is hereby mended by addiiig thereto Chapter 4.74, reading
as follows:
"CHAPTER 4.74 -- TOW TRUCIX63'.
`SECTION' 4.74. 010
!'For the purpose of this Chapter, the following terras shall
have the iueanings mere given to tilers:
"The term T0,07 TRUCI: shall iaean and include a rotor vehicle
which iias been altered or designed and equipped for, and
exclusively useu in, ti -le business of towing vehicles i.)y means
of a crane, hoist, tow --bar, tow -line, or dolly or is other-
wise exclusively used to render assistance to other vehicles.

"It shall be unlawful for any driver to operate any tow -truck

"Every driver's permit issued hereunder shall set forth
the following informationz
(a) name of company for w.-I-lom the driver is authorized

(c) Date of expiration of said permit.

Police for investigation of ap.1licant. T-ae application shall

(a) !',ai-tief age, citizenship and address of applicant;

(c) Past experience as a driver, including t'"Lie names
and addresses of his employers during the preceding
three (3) years
(d) Possession of a driver's license, WI-licid shall be
displayed;
(e) -V'hether any chauffeur's or driver's license-, either
state or other, has ever leen revoked or suspended;
(f) NaT,,,e and address of applicant's intended employer;
(g) Maether the applicant has been arrested and the
disposition of such arrests, other than traffic
citations.

':Upon application for a driver's permit and before it shall be
issued, the applicant shall je fingerprinted and a record
thereof filed in the Police Department. Z'ippi i cant shall file
with said application two photographs, proviaed by the Police
. L)epartment, one to be filed with tine application and one to
be peri-Lianently attached to the driver's permit when issued.
1:o permanent license shall be granted by the License Collector
for a period of two (2) weeks subsequent to the date of said
application; however, the CIlief of Police is hereby empowered
to issue a temporary driver's permit. The fee of Five joiiars
03.00) shall be retained for the driver's permit, if granted,
and for cost of examination if not granted.

"The Chief of Police iiay deny the said application, or having
issued the permit, revoke or suspend the same if the Chief of
Police shall determine that the applicant or tow -truck driver
is of bad moral character or has willfully falsified said
application for driver's permit or is quilty of violation of
any of the provisions of this ordinance or of any lawful
regulation promulgated pursuant thereto or has been convicted
of any offense involving moral turpitude. For the purposes
of this section r,-ioral �L_urpitude is everything do. -Lie contrary
to justice, honesty, modesty, or good morals. :10 such
driver's permit shall be issued to anyone under the age of
twenty-one (21) years, or to any -,jerson having physical
impairments, handicaps or (.,ef iciencies of such a nature as to
interfere with said driver's ability to carry out or perform
his duties of eicLployment. Upon terit-Lination of employment of
any driver, the owner for whoiie such driver has been er.,Lployed
shall forthwith and LiiroeLiately surrender, return and give
up said driver's permit to the Chief of Police ana shall file
written notice of said termination of empioy-:c,,ent within five
(5) &ays thereafter.

the applicable provisions of this Ciiapter.!�
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify Co tl,ie passacre of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to 1)e -,.)rioted once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published anti
circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after
its final passage it shall take effect and }De in full force.
