2474ORDINANCE iso. 2474 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AIENDING TITLE 14, CHAPTER 14.32 OF THE ANAHEIM M NICIPAL CODE BY REPEALING SECTION 14.32.181 THEREOF AND BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 14.32.179, RELATING TO PARKING ON CITY -OWNED PARKING LOTS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF A.N4AHEI:d DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Title 14, Chapter 14.32 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended by repealing Section 14.32.181. SECTION 2. That 'Title 14, Chapter 14.32 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto Section 14.32.179 reading as follows: "SECTION 14.32.179 CITY PARKING LO'T'S --P MiIT PARKING ONLY --TWO-HOUR PARKING LI11IT . "On any public parking lot owned or maintained by the City of Anaheim and devoted to the use of the public for parking purposes, no person shall park any vehicle on such lot for any period of time in excess of two (2) hours for any continuous period. "PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that any member of the public may park a vehicle on such lots for a period longer than two (2) continuous hours if said person obtains a permit to park in excess of said two (2) hours by purchasing said permit from the City of Anaheim at a cost of six dollars ($6.00) per month. It shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle on any of the aforementioned parking lots without displaying the appropriate permit sticker. "Nothing contained herein shall be construed to relieve any person holding said permit from complying with all of the terms and conditions of Chapter 14.32 of the Anaheim Municipal Code." SECTION 3. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency measure and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption. The facts constituting such urgency are as follows: The City, having heretofore enacted Ordinance No. 2447 adding Section 14.32.181 to the Anaheim municipal Code, relating to monthly parking on certain city -owned parking lots, has dis- covered that these certain lots, to wit: Lot No. 2, Lot No. 8, Lot No. 9 and Lot No. 11 have not been effectively used for the purpose which they were constructed --to provide for the space for public parking in the City of Anaheim --and, further, the City has discovered that excess traffic and parking has generated in the streets and highways of the downtown area of the City of Anaheim and, therefore, it is in the best interests of the City of Anaheim to immediately repeal the heretofore enacted Section 14.32.181 anti to enact in its stead Section 14.32.179 of the Anaheim ,,Iunicipal Code. The adoption of this ordinance as an urgency measure is necessary for the i mmiediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and general welfare. SECTION 4. The City Clerk, shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in the Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in said City, and immediately upon and after its passage it shall take effect and be in 'Lull force.
