ORDINANCE NO. 2257 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF THE TERRITORY KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS RINKER ANNEXATION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the 25th day of January , 19 66 , receive a written petition asking that certain new territory--desciibed in said petition be annexed to the City of Anaheim. That prior to the circulation or filing of said petition, notice of intention to annex said territory, containing the spe- cific boundaries of the territory to be annexed, was filed with the Local Agency Annexation Commission, and said Local Agency Annexation Commission rendered its decision, as provided in Section 54766 of the Government Code, approving said annexation. That said territory of Anaheim is situated in the nia, and is contiguous to the territory. That said petition territory in words and figures described. proposed to be annexed to said City County of Orange, State of Califor- City of Anaheim, and is uninhabited contained a description of said as hereinafter in this ordinance That the City Council duly assembled at a -- regular meeting of said City Council held on the 25th clay o 19 6§, did find that said petition at the time Januar w� ect and received was signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in the territory by area and by as- sessed value, as shown on the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, State of California, in which said territory is situated, and that said territory did not form a part of any municipal corporation, and did find that said terri- tory is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited territory. That on the 25th day of Januar, 19 66 , at a -+ reg meeting or said City Council oche City of AnaFieim, Resolution No. 66R-64 was duly passed and adopted specifically describing the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim and designating such territory as RINKER ANNEXATION an giving notice of such annexation and fixing the lst day of March 19 66 , at the hours of 1_ :NO— City 0o c P.M. at t e City Counci Cham er in the City Hall in tt of Anaheim, as the day, hour and place for hearing of written protests to said annexation and when and where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having objections to the proposed annexation might appear before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and present written objections to the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim, and directing the City Clerk to publish or cause to be published a copy of said resolution at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, for two successive weeks prior to the date of said -1- hearing, in a newspaper of generalcirculation, published in the City of Anaheim, to wit-, The Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County, Ca i ornla, and Erecting t at sai publications be completed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date of hearing hereinabove mentioned; and further directing the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with said City Clerk; and that in the event that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County, that the City Clerk shall cause written notice of such proposed annexation, to .�e mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County, and directing that such notices be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation That on the hour, day and at the place specified in said Resolution No. 66R-64 , to grit.- On the 1st day of March I? 6 , at the hour of ���o clock P.M. in the City Council C am er in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim'. California., the City Council of the City of Anaheim did meet and assemble to hear and pass on all protests filed or re- ceived up to the closing of the hearing on said protests. That the City Council did find that the resolution fixing the time and place of said hearing was published by the City Clerk as therein directed, and that written notice of such proposed an- nexation was mailed to each person who had filed his name and address and the designation of lands in which such person has any interest, by the City Clerk as directed in said resolution, and that written protests were not made by the owner or owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed according to the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, State of California, nor were protests made by public or private owners equal to one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed as determined by the City Council, Said findings were then duly adopted by Resolution No. 66R-151 on March 1 , 19 6.6 SECTION 2. That the annexation of the territory included within the boundaries of the RINKER ANNEXATION, and more particular y escr'1a as follows, to wit: -2- -FR@P06£R RINKER ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM That portion of land located in the County of Orange, State of California, described as follows: I �i Beginning at a point in the existing City Limit line of the City of Anaheim, being the most Northeast corner of the Northeast Annexation No. 3 to the City of Anaheim, passed by Ordinance No. 1542, January 17, 1961, filed with the Secretary of State July 'i0, 1964 and recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Official Records of Orange Country, California, July 17, 1964; thence Leaning the said existing City of Anaheim City Limit line along a portion of the North "Line of the land designated as Bernardo M. Yorba, Jr,, et al., shown on a Map of Survey filed in book 53, page 44 of Record of Surveys in the office of the County Recorder of said Orange County, California, the following courses and distances: North 750 09' 40" East 394021 feet, North 750 49' 14" East 997045 feet to the Northwest corner of Parcel. No. 2 of that certain parcel. of land conveyed to the Placentia Unified School. D.*s'-r.ic,t. of Orange County, California by Final. Order. of Condemnation recorded April 18, 1.963 in Book 6514, pages 183 and 184 of Official Records of Orange County, California; thence 20 Following along the Westerly and Southerly boundary of the land conveyed to said School District the following courses and distances: South 50 34' 21" West 595053 feet, South 840 25' 39" East 307,82 feet to the Southeast corner of the parcel of land conveyed to said School District; thence 3. Leaving the land conveyed to said School District South 120 19' 00" East 226 feet, more or less, to an intersection with the Southerly line of the aforementioned parcel of land designated Bernardo Mo Yorba, Jr,, et al., shown on the aforementioned Record of Survey filed in Book 53, page 44 of Record of. Surveys in the office of the County Recorder of said Orange County, California; thence 4e North 840 2.5' 39" West 1,589 feet, more or less, along a portion of the Southerly line of the said land of Bernardo Me Yorba, Jr., et al, to the Southwesterly corner thereof, said Southwesterly corner being a point in the existing City of Anaheim City Limit line, as established by the aforementioned Northeast Annexation No. 3, said point being distant South 100 56' 03" East 350,41 feet from the point of beginning of the area herein described; thence 5. North 100 56' 03" West 350,41. feet along a portion of said existing City of Anaheim City Limit line, also being the Westerly line of the land of said Bernardo Mo Yorba, Jr,, et al, to the point of beginning, -3- is hereby approved and said territory is hereby annexed to and incorporated in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, and is hereby designated as the RINKER ANNEXATION to t e City of Anaheim. SECTION 3. That from and after the effective date of this ordinance and the filing of a certified copy thereof with the Secretary of State of the State of California, the annexation of the territory herein described shall be deemed to be and shall be complete and thenceforth such annexed territory shall be, to all intents and purposes, a part of the City of Anaheim, and from and after the effective date of such annexation, all property therein shall be subject to taxation equally with the property within the City of Anaheim and shall be taxed to pay its proportionate share of the existing indebtedness and liability of said City of Anaheim con- tracted prior to or existing at the time of such annexation pur- suant to the written consent of the owners of property in said annexed territory filed with the Clerk of the City of Anaheim prior to the adoption of this ordinance. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the Anaheim Bulletin , a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published—and circulated in the Cit of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, and thirty (30} days from and after its final passage it shall be in full force and effect.
