A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR
GRANT FUNDS FROM THE ORANGE COUNTY URBAN
PARKS PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the County of Orange has enacted the Orange
County Urban Parks Program which provides funds to local cities
and districts in the County of Orange for acquiring and/or
developing facilities for public recreational and open space
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange Environmental Management
Agency/Harbors, Beaches and Parks Department has been delegated
the responsibility for the administration of the program within
the County, including establishing necessary procedures governing
application by local cities and districts under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the County of
Orange Environmental Management Agency/Harbors, Beaches and Parks
Department require the applicant to certify by resolution the
approval of application(s) before submission of said
application(s) to the County; and
WHEREAS, said application(s) contain assurances with
which the applicant must comply; and
WHEREAS, city desires to undertake the acquisition or
development of the following projects:
a)Peralta Canyon Park Group Picnic
Shelter
b)Peralta Canyon Recreation Center
Improvements
c) La Palma Park (Glover Stadium)
Baseball Concession Improvements
d) Basketball Lighting Improvements at
Peralta Canyon, Ponderosa, Twila
Reid, John Marshall and Eucalyptus
Parks
(hereinafter, collectively, the
"Projects")
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement
with the County of Orange for acquisition or development of the
Projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim
hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for grant funds
from the Orange County Urban Parks Program for the Projects; and
2. Certifies that it understands the assurances and
certification in the application form; and
3. Certifies that said applicant has or will have
sufficient funds to operate and maintain the Projects; and
4. Agrees to provide funds to match Orange County funds
for project costs as required; and
5. Appoints the City Manager of the City of Anaheim as
agent of the City to conduct all negotiations and execute and
submit all documents including, but not limited to applications,
agreements, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary
for the completion of the aforementioned Projects.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the city of Anaheim this25th day of June 1991.
