3054ORDINANCE NO. 3054
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING
CHAPTER, 1.04 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE
BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 1.04.345.
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Anaheim prohibits
any councilman from holding a position of membership upon any
of its advisory commissions; and
WHEREAS, all of the commissions of the City of Anaheim
act as advisors to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the advisory duties of the commissioner are
deemed incompatible with the objectives of campaigning for the
Office of City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 1.04 of the Anaheim Municipal Code is hereby
amended by adding thereto Section 1.04.345 to read as follows:
"1.04.345 Filing for Council deemed resignation
from Commission
Should any member of any commission of the City, whether
created by Charter or ordinance, file nomination papers
for the Office of City Council, such action shall
operate as a resignation from the Commission of which
he or she is a member without any further action."
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after its
final passage, it shall take effect and be in full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by me
