A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN APPLICATION TO THE
CALIFORNIA TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR A
GRANT FOR A BICYCLE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is committed to complying
with the environmental regulations of the South Coast Air Quality
Management District; and
WHEREAS, the use of bicycles as transportation to and
from work is an effective means of lowering automobile emissions
and thereby reducing smog; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to encourage the
use of bicycles for transportation; and
WHEREAS, the California Transportation Commission has
available grant funds for encouraging use of bicycles.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that;
1. The City Council of the City of Anaheim does
hereby approve an application to the California
Transportation Commission for funds to be used to
provide bicycle lockers at the new city Utility
Building and the Amtrak Commuter Rail Station.
2. The Traffic and Transportation Manager of the
Cityof Anaheim is authorized to execute said
application for funds on behalf of the City of
Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 1st day of October
1991.
