ORDINANCE NO. 4494
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM ADDING TO TITLE 14, CHAPTER 14.32,
SECTION 14.32.370, SUBSECTION 14.32.370.040
PERTAINING TO PARKING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS
SECTION 1.
That Title 14, Chapter 14.32, Section 14.32.370,
Subsection 14.32.370.040 be added to the Anaheim Municipal Code to
read as follows:
"14.32.370.040. Any provision of this Ordinance which
regulates traffic or delegates the regulation of traffic upon
State highways in any way for which the approval of the
Department of Transportation is required by State law, shall
cease to be operative six months after receipt by the City
Council of written notice of withdrawal of approval of the
Department of Transportation.
Whenever this Ordinance delegates authority to a city
officer, or authorizes action by the City Council to regulate
traffic upon a State highway in any way which by State law
requires the prior approval of the Department of
Transportation, no such officer shall exercise such authority
nor shall such action by the City Council be effective with
respect to any State highway without the prior approval in
writing of the Department of Transportation when and to the
extent required by the Vehicle Code."
SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY
The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby declares
that should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this
ordinance, hereby adopted, be declared for any reason to be
invalid, it is the intent of the Council that it would have passed
all other portions of this ordinance independent of the elim-
ination herefrom of any such portion as may be declared invalid.
SECTION 3. CERTIFICATION
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this or-
dinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within fifteen
(15) days after its adoption in the Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper
of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in said
City, and thirty (30) days from and after its final passage, it
shall take effect and be in full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 24th day of April, 1984.
