93-005 RESOLUTION NO. 93R-5
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING A
PUBLIC UTILITIES ENGINEERING
FELLOWSHIP.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim Public Utilities
Department ("Department") has an ongoing need to recruit and
employ qualified utilities engineers; and
WHEREAS, recruiting qualified utilities engineers has
required nationwide recruitments and has resulted in significant
expenditures of money and Department staff time; and
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Engineering Fellowship
will provide educational funding and part-time employment to
local students with demonstrated financial need and enhance the
availability of qualified local job applicants;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of
the city of Anaheim as follows:
1. That the City Council hereby orders establishment of
the Public Utilities Engineering Fellowship to be
funded by interest earned on a portion of refunds
received from Southern California Edison Company.
2. The General Manager of the Public Utilities Department
is hereby authorized and directed to implement said
Public Utilities Engineering Fellowship, subject to
further approvals as required by the City Council
regarding necessary procedures, budgetary matters,
rules and regulations to carry out activities related
to said Fellowship.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 5th day of January
1993.
