A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM APPROVING A LE'I-I'ER OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE ANAHEIM FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION
AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
WHEREAS, the Assistant Labor Relations Director met and conferred
with officials and employee representatives of the Anaheim Firefighters
Association, on the Impact of the Fire Department's determination to
reorganize Fire Arson Investigation; and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, a Letter,of Understanding, dated ,
June 14, 1993, delineates an agreement reached on the subject of the
impact of the Fire Department's determination !o reorganize Fire Arson
Investigation on effected bargaining unit employees represented by the
Anaheim Firefighters Association.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that
it is in the best interests of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter
of Understanding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated June 14, 1993, between the
Anaheim Firefighters Association and the City of Anaheim, copies of which
are hereto attached and incorporated by reference herein, is approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City

LETFER OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE
ANAHEIM FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION
AND THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM
The parties have met and conferred concerning the effects of the Fire Department's
determination to reorganize Fire Arson Investigation and have reached an
understanding, effective July 2, 1993 as follows:
1. Article 12 Salary Relationships Is amended to add the Firefighter Fire/Arson
Investigation Assignment as follows:
Firefighter Fire/Arson Investigation .13 x Firefighter I "E" Step
Assignment
2. Appendix "A" is amended to add the Fire/Arson Investigation Assignment Pay as
follows:
Wages 40 Hour Firefighter Fire/Arson Investigation Assignment
Pay $2.76
Wages 56 Hour Firefighter Fire/Arson Investigation Assignment
Pay $1.97
3. Any employee assigned as of the date of this letter to a Senior Fire/Arson
Investigator forty hour assignment who is reassigned effective July 2, 1993 to
a Firefighter fifty-six (56) hour fire/arson investigation assignment shall be
eligible to retain his regular hourly rate of pay (56 hour equivalent for a
maximum of two years (fifty-two (52) complete biweekly pay periods) subject to
meeting the following conditions:
Performing special duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Fire
Chief or his designated representative.
Continued meritorious and efficient service In the effective performance
of both regular and special duties as evaluated by the Fire Chief or his
designated representative.
Upon completion of the two year period, an employee shall be paid the
Firefighter hourly rate and the fire/arson Invesfigatlo, n assignment pay hourly
rate In effect at that time.
