93-208 RESOLUTION NO. 93R- 208 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, GENERAL EMPLOYEES UNIT, AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the Assistant Labor Relations Director met and conferred with officials and employee representatives of the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Employees Unit, to discuss specific ~on~erns relative to amending Article 24 of said Memorandum of Understanding; and WHEREAS, the specific concerns discussed with the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association were the City's interests in increasing the probationary employment period for Police Dispatcher employees to twenty-six complete bi-weekly pay periods; and WHEREAS, a Letter of Understanding dated October 7, 1993, between the parties has been prepared and signed, amending Article 24 of the current Memorandum of Understanding, said amendment to be effective upon ~ecution of said Letter of Understanding; and WHEREAS, The city Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best interests of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of the city of Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated October 7, 1993, between the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Employees Unit, and the City of Anaheim, a copy of which is attached heretQ. and incorporated by reference herein, is approved, and said Memorandum of Understanding is hereby amended in accordance with the terms of said Letter of Understanding. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the city Council of the City of Anaheim this 26th day of October, 1993. CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM LETFER OF UNDERSTANDING between the ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION CLERICAL UNIT and the CITY OF ANAHEIM The Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, Clerical Unit and the City of Anaheim after meeting and conferring, have reached an agreement to amend Article 24, Probation on a non-precedenfial basis as follows: 24.1.1. Certain desi;nated lob classes in the classified service shall have a re;ular period of probation which beckIns on the date of appointment and ends twentv-six (26} complete bi-weeklv 13av oerlods after the date of appointment. These lob classes shall be: Police Dispatcher I 24.1./I/2. In the event an employee Is assigned to light duty status or Is absent from work due to a lengthy Illness or injury during his probationary period, said employee's probationary status may be extended beyond the regular period of probation In the amount of one complete biweekly pay period for each complete biweekly pay period assigned to light duty status or lost due to such illness or Injury. 24.1.~'3. Upon successful completion of a probationary period, an employee shall be granted regular status in the classification In which the probationary period is served.
