A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING
MEMBERSHIP IN THE ORANGE COUNTY
THEFT TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the problems surrounding automobile theft and
car jacking are increasing in california; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Supervisors adopted
Resolution No. 93-54, pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section
9250.14 to establish an Orange County Vehicle Theft Task Force
and funding to impact the increasing incidence of auto theft; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim wishes to support the
efforts of the County of Orange, District Attorney's Office,
Sheriff's Department, eight other cities and various State and
Federal Agencies to help to address this problem; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Orange
County Vehicle Theft Task Force Progress Report and the FY
1993/94 proposed Task Force Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the Chief of Police be, and the Chief is
hereby, authorized to participate as a member of the Executive
Committee of the Orange County Vehicle Theft Task Force and to
represent the City of Anaheim with respect to the Task Force
activities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police be, and
the Chief is hereby, authorized to assign City of Anaheim police
personnel to the Task Force and, permit them to participate in
Task Force activities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim may
receive applicable reimbursement for such membership and
activities in accordance and compliance with County of Orange
accepted accounting procedures, and as referenced in the Orange
County Vehicle Theft Task Force Program Report.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
