A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING A
GRANT FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF
ENERGY IN THE SUM OF $100,000
RELATING TO IMPLEMENTATION OF A
REMOTE VIDEO ARRAIGNMENT PILOT
PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL AGREEMENTS
AND OTHER DOCUMENTS RELATING
THERETO.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim (the "city") has
heretofore applied for, and been awarded, a grant in the sum of
$100,000 through the United States Department of Energy State
Energy Conservation Program (the "Grant"); and
WHEREAS, the Grant is required to be used to purchase
and install all equipment necessary to implement and conduct a
remote video arraignment program in both the Anaheim Police
Department Detention Facility and the North Orange County
Municipal Court; and
WHEREAS, the terms and limitation of said grant are
expressly set forth in that certain agreement dated as of June 1,
1993 between the State of California and the City and bearing
State Contract Number 291059 (the "Grant Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, the city desires to accept said Grant, subject
to the express terms and conditions thereof, and to approve and
authorize execution of said Grant Agreement and all other
necessary documents relating thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. That the City of Anaheim hereby accepts the Grant, and
defined herein, subject to the terms and conditions thereof.
2. That the City Council hereby approves the Grant
Agreement, including the Special Provisions, Nondiscrimination
Clause and Exhibits A through E thereof, and authorizes the City
Manager to execute said Grant Agreement, and all other necessary
documents relating thereto, for and on behalf of the City.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 29th day of
June 19 9 3.
