A RESOLUTION OF THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT EMPLOYING ECONOMICS RESEARCH
ASSOCIATES TO PERFORM CERTAIN SERVICES FOR
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THROUGH ITS DULY ORGAN-
IZED URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has
heretofore established an Urban Renewal Agency consisting of the
members of the City Council and has appointed a Citizens Com-
mittee as an Urban Renewal Advisory Committee to the City Council
and to the Urban Renewal Agency; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens' Committee, designated the Urban
Renewal Advisory Committee, has expended considerable time and
energy in studying the problems of the City relating to urban
renewal; and
WHEREAS, the said Urban Renewal Advisory Committee has
recommended that certain economic research and evaluation be con-
ducted in the City of Anaheim in order to realistically analyze
the urban renewal aspects of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, several proposals for research of this nature
have been received by the Urban Renewal Advisory Committee and
referred to the City Council and the Urban Renewal Agency, and the
proposal of Economics Research Associates has been determined to
be the best proposal for the purposes of the Urban Renewal Agency
of the City; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Urban Renewal
Agency and the City Council of the City of Anaheim that it would
be in the best public interest to employ Economics Research Asso-
ciates to conduct an economic research and analysis of the City of
Anaheim, and that the proposal of said Economics Research Associates
should be accepted and a contract entered into with said firm.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Urban Renewal Agency
of the City of Anaheim that an agreement be made and entered into
by and between the City of Anaheim, through its duly and regularly
organized Urban Renewal Agency, and Economics Research Associates
for the employment by the City of said Economics Research Associates
to furnish the following services at the compensation hereinafter
stipulated:
SERVICES
1. To make a comprehensive economic study of the City
of Anaheim consisting of research and analysis of
present conditions and of the forecast of economic
potentials.
2. Said research of Economics Research Associates shall
be as outlined and specifically set forth in a pro-
posal for research submitted to the Urban Renewal
Advisory Committee by document dated July 20, 1962.
3. The staff personnel which shall conduct the study
and research program shall be as follows; Harrison
A. Price, Director; William S. Lund and J. Richard
McElyea, project coordinators; and Philip S. Stukin,
project leader.

4. Economics Research Associates shall carry adequate
insurance to cover public liability in an amount
not less than $100,000.00 for each person and
$300,000.00 for each occurrence and shall furnish
to said Urban Renewal Agency certificates _eviden-
cing such insurance.
5. Economics Research Associates will submit one hun-
dred copies of the final report to said Urban Renewal
Agency at the conclusion of the study and will make
available additional copies of the report at the ac-
tual extra cost of printing of such additional
reports.
6. Economics Research Associates will complete the
economic study in six months from the date of said
agreement.
7. Economics Research Associates will submit monthly
billings to the Agency specifying costs incurred by
said Economics Research Associates, including all
costs of personnel.
COMPENSATION
The City of Anaheim shall pay to Economics Research
Associates for the complete economic study survey and report as
set forth above the sum of Twenty -four Thousand Dollars
($24,000.00) payable as follows:
1. Upon the receipt of monthly billings by Economics
Research Associates the City shall check and audit
the same and shall pay the actual costs incurred by
said Economics Research Associates, including the
cost of personnel, each month based upon such state-
ments and the audits thereof, such monthly payments
in no event exceeding the sum of Twenty Thousand
Dollars ($20,000.00).
2. The balance of said Twenty -four Thousand Dollars
($24,000.00) to be payable upon the completion of
the economic study and the submission by Economics
Research Associates and acceptance by the Urban
Renewal Agency of the one hundred copies of the
final report.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim and Chairman of the Urban Renewal Agency and City Clerk
of the City of Anaheim and Secretary of the Urban Renewal Agency
be and they are hereby authorized to execute said agreement for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim through its duly organized
Urban Renewal Agency.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 9th day of October, 1962.

I, DENE M. WILLIAMS, Secretary of the Urban Renewal
Agency of the City of Anaheim, do hereby certify that the fore-
going resolution was passed and adopted at a called meeting of
the Urban Renewal Agency held on the 9th day of October, 1962,
by the following vote of the members thereof:
AYES: Mr. Dutton, Mr. Chandler, Mr. Schutte, Mr. Krein and
Mr. Coons.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Chairman of the Urban
Renewal Agency of the City of Anaheim approved and signed said
resolution on the 9th day of October, 1962.
