94-072 RESOLUTION NO. 94R-72
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA
APPROVING THE FILING OF A PROPOSAL
WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE
OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING FOR
FUNDING A GANG PREVENTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, funding exists for the development of gang
prevention programs through the Gang Violence Suppression
Program, Single Component Prevention Projects, Fiscal Year
1994/1995; and
WHEREAS, the California Office of Criminal Justice
Planning has approximately 1.2 million dollars to fund statewide
efforts to reduce the level of gang violence in the community and
to divert potentially dangerous gang activity into more positive
and constructive behavior; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to assist in
preventing youth from becoming involved in criminal gang activity
as described in the Gang/Drug Task Force report;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. That the filing of a proposal with the State of
California Office of Criminal Justice Planning for "Gang Violence
Suppression Program, Single Component Prevention Projects"
funding is hereby approved; and
2. That the Chief of Police is hereby appointed as agent
of the City of Anaheim to conduct all negotiations, execute and
submit all documents including, but not limited to, applications,
agreements, amendments, payment requests, etc., which may be
necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 3rd day of
May , 1994.
