94-132 RESOLUTION NO. 94R -132
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM EXPRESSING
SUPPORT OF "DISNEY CLASSIC WEEK"
WHEREAS, the Walt Disney Company is proposing a
celebration of the university experience by hosting an event for
the one hundred and seven Division 1-A universities throughout
the United States of America; and,
WHEREAS, the celebration will include the "Disney
Classic Forum", the "Disney Classic Arts Festival", the "Disney
Classic University Fair" and the "Disney Classic Sports Expo";
and,
WHEREAS, the celebration will culminate with the
"Disney Pigskin Classic"; and,
WHEREAS, the "Disney Pigskin Classic", to be held in
January, will host the premiere college football teams in a
championship game to be played at Anaheim Stadium; and,
WHEREAS, the citizens of Anaheim, Orange County, and
California should experience positive social and economic
benefits from the Disney Classic and the events associated
therewith.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM THAT:
1. The City of Anaheim does hereby express its full
support for the Disney Classic.
2. The city of Anaheim does hereby urge all other cities
of Orange County to support the Disney Classic.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
city Council of the city of Anaheim this 28t~aY of June '
1994.
