A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE
CHIEF OF POLICE TO ACCEPT GRANT
FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE
CONTROL
WHEREAS, grant funds in the amount of Ninety Nine
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($99,500.00) have been awarded to
the City of Anaheim through the Grant Assistance to Local Law
Enforcement Agencies Project administered by the Department of
Alcoholic Beverage Control (hereinafter referred to as ABC); and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim Police Department can
effectively utilize those grant funds in the undertaking of a
project designated as the Grant Assistance to Local Law
Enforcement Agencies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. That the Chief of Police is authorized to accept the
grant funds on behalf of the city of Anaheim, California and to
execute on behalf of the City of Anaheim the contract in
connection therewith said proposal, a copy of which is attached
hereto as Exhibit "A" including any extensions or amendments
thereof and any subsequent contract with the State in relation
thereto;
2. That it is agreed that any liability arising out of the
performance of this contract, including civil court actions for
damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and
the authorizing agency. The State of California and ABC disclaim
responsibility for any such liability.
3. That grant funds received pursuant to the proposal
shall not be used to supplement expenditures controlled by the
City Council.
4. That it is also agreed that this grant award is not
subject to local hiring freezes.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim 20~th day ~
