94-222 RESOLUTION NO. 94R-222
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA APPROVING, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE,
AN APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FROM THE STATE
OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR THE PURCHASE OF
TWO MOBILE RADAR DISPLAY TRAILERS EQUIPPED
WITH COMPUTER TRACKING CAPABILITY AND FOUR
HAND-HELD RADAR DEVICES.
WHEREAS, the Office of Traffic Safety of the State of
California has available Federal grant funds for improving
traffic safety; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is eligible for a grant in
the sum of $37,376.00 for the purchase of two radar display
trailers equipped with computer tracking capabilities, to be used
at selected locations in the City, and four hand-held radar
devices; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of such a grant would promote
traffic safety and would be in the public interest;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the filing of an application with the
State office of Traffic Safety for a grant in the sum of
$37,376.00 to be used for the above-stated purposes is hereby
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Anaheim hereby authorizes the Chief of Police to execute
the grant application and any other documents that may be
required for the completion of the project and to represent the
city in all matters pertaining to such grant and the project
related thereto.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
city Council of the City of Anaheim this 13th day of
