A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE
1996 INTEGRATED RESOURCE PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim (Anaheim) purchases electric
power from the Hoover Power Plant under an agreement with the
Western Area Power Administration (Western); and
WHEREAS, the rules and regulations adopted by Western
pursuant to Section 114 of the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (10 CFR
Part 905) require that power purchase customers of Western such as
Anaheim develop and adopt an Integrated Resource Plan (Plan) that
evaluates the power supply options, including supply side, demand
side and renewable resources, available to meet the customer's load
and specifies the requirements for the Plan; and
WHEREAS, Anaheim's Public Utilities Department
(Department) has developed a proposed Plan which meets Western's
requirements; and
WHEREAS, copies of the proposed Plan were made available
for public review and comment; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Public Utilities Board (PUB) held
a noticed public hearing on the Plan at the PUB's meeting on
April 3, 1997 to obtain public comment on the proposed Plan; and
WHEREAS, after considering the proposed Plan, the PUB
recommended that the City Council approve the proposed Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AS FOLLOWS:
1. The 1996 Integrated Resource Plan is hereby approved
and the City Council hereby confirms that the Plan meets
Western's requirements for development and adoption of an
integrated resource plan.
2. The Public Utilities General Manager is hereby
authorized and directed to execute and deliver any and all
documents and instruments, and to do or cause to be done any and
all acts and things necessary or proper for carrying out the
requirements set forth in Western's regulations.
3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this 15th day of April
1997.
