A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
SPECIAL MAIL BALLOT ELECTION FOR THE
BROADWAY/THISTLE ISLAND ANNEXATION, HELD
AUGUST 31, 2010
WHEREAS, on July 27, 2010, the City Council of the City of Anaheim adopted
Resolution No. 2010 -124, calling for a special mail ballot election for the Broadway /Thistle
Island annexation, pursuant to Government Code Section 57000(e); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the terms of the Resolution Calling Election, the special mail
ballot election was held on August 31, 2010; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim has certified the canvass of the
returns of the election and has filed a Canvass and Statement of Results of Special Mail Ballot
Election (the "Canvass "), a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
as follows:
Section 1. The City Council has received, reviewed and hereby accepts the Canvass and
Statement of Results of Special Mail Ballot Election.
Section 2. The City Council hereby finds and declares that the ballot measure submitted
to the qualified electors of the Broadway /Thistle neighborhood pursuant to the Resolution
Calling Election required the affirmative vote of a majority of the votes cast on said Measure,
and that the Measure failed to receive the necessary affirmative votes by the qualified electors.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of the City of
Anaheim, a statement of the results of the election, showing (1) the whole number of ballots cast;
(2) the measure voted upon, and (3) the number of votes for and against the Measure.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver a copy of this Resolution
and Statement of Results to the Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim this 14 ''_ day of September , 2010, by the following roll call vote:

the "Broadway /Thistle Island Annexation to the City of Anaheim (RO 10 -01)" be confirmed
subject to the terms and conditions specified in the order?
