2000-129RESOLUTION NO. 2nnn~.-129 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ESTABLISH RATES OF COMPENSATION FOR JOB CLASSIFICATIONS DESIGNATED AS FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report dated June 13, 2000, that the need exists to establish rates of compensation for job classifications designated as Fire Safety Management effective June 23, 2000; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that establishing rates of compensation for classifications designated as Fire Safety Management is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows: Section 1. The basic compensation plan for all officers and employees of the City of Anaheim designed as Fire Safety Management who are now employed or will in the future be employed in any of the classifications listed below shall be allocated to the following salary ranges effective June 23, 2000: Classification Salary Ranqes Deputy Fire Marshal Fire Battalion Chief Fire Battalion Chief-Training Fire Division Chief Fire Marshal Principal Staff Services Officer Senior Staff Services Officer Staff Services Officer X FR10 XF FR20 XF FR30 XF FR40 XF FR40 X FR15 X FR05 X FR00 Section 2. For purposes of benefits and application of Management Pay Guidelines, Policies and Personnel Rules, classifications listed in Section I of this Resolution shall be assigned to the following Units: Classification Unit of Representation: Deputy Fire Marshal Fire Battalion Chief Fire Battalion Chief-Training Fire Division Chief Fire Marshal Principal Staff Services Officer Senior Staff Services Officer Staff Services Officer Supervisory 18 Middle Management 13 Middle Management 13 Administrative Management 12 Administrative Management 12 Professional 09 Professional 09 Professional 09 Section 4. The statutorily required employee PERS pension contributions shall be paid by the City of Anaheim as employee paid member contributions. For the purpose of Internal Revenue Code Section 414(h)(2), these contributions shall be considered a reduction in salary and shall be included in an employee's wages for the purpose of PERS reportable compensation, overtime calculations, and all other purposes with the exception of state and federal income tax withholding and reporting, and the cash out of accumulated leave balances. Section 5. Employees hired to work on a part-time basis in any of the classifications listed in Section I of this Resolution shall be compensated at the rate of pay established for the full-time classification. Section 6. The letter "X" preceding a salary range number indicates that employees working in that job class are exempt from overtime provisions as provided in Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. The letter "F" preceding a salary range indicates that employees upgraded to that job class shall be paid premium pay as provided in Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay and the Management Pay Guidelines, Temporary Upgrades. Section 7. Employees in the classifications of Deputy Fire Marshal, Fire Battalion Chief, Principal Staff Services Officer, Senior Staff Services Officer and Staff Services Officer required to speak, read and/or write in Spanish or other languages as well as English, as part of the regular duties of their position, will be compensated at the rate of sixty dollars ($60) per biweekly pay period in addition to their regular pay as provided under Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. \\co afs 1 \vol 1 ~home\vkilmur\OT2 3 5 5 vk BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution shall be June 23, 2000.
