2000-077RESOLUTION NO. 2000-~.-77 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS, Local 47, AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM. WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director met and conferred with officials and employee representatives of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47, representing the Anaheim Part-Time Customer Service Employees, relating to Article 27, (Health Insurance); and WHEREAS, a Letter of Understanding was prepared to amend Article 27 (Health Insurance) of the Memorandum of Understanding between the parties to be effective July 1, 2000; and WHEREAS, the Union is in agreement with the amendment contained in said Letter of Understanding; and as result thereof, the Letter of Understanding dated May 5, 2000, between the parties has been signed; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated May 5, 2000 between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47, and the City of Anaheim, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, is hereby approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Memorandum of Understanding between the parties covering the period of March 21, 2000 through January 15, 2004, is hereby amended in accordance with the terms of said Letter of Understanding. WHITE, CITY ATTORNEY LEI-FER OF UNDERSTANDING between the INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS, LOCAL 47 representing the ANAHEIM PART-TIME CUSTOMER SERVICE EMPLOYEES and the CITY OF ANAHEIM The City of Anaheim ("ANAHEIM'~ and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47 ("UNION'S, after meeting and conferring, have reached an understanding to amend ARTICLE 27 - HEALTH INSURANCE of the Hemorandum of Understanding, as follows: 27.1 ARTICLE 27 HEALTH INSURANCE For emplQyees hired on or before March 21, 2000, effective July 1, 2000, the City's maximum contribution towards an employee's purchase of the Kaiser Q plan (employee only) is as follows: 0 ~-- 2 years employment 50% More than 2 years employment 27.11 Employees working in a classification listed in Appendix "A" shall be provided health insurance as long as they remain employed and are available to work. Employees shall become eligible for coverage on the first day of the month following one complete calendar month of working in a classification listed in Appendix "A.' LOU PTCSE 27.2 For employees hired after March 21, 2000, effective 3ulv 1, 2000, the City's maximum contribution towards an employee's purchase of the Kaiser O plan (employee onlvl is as follows: 1 -- 2 years employment 50% More than 2 years 75% employment 27.21 Employees w0rkinq in a classification listed in Appendix "A" shall be provided health insurance as long as they remain employed and are available tO work. Employees shall become eligible for coveraoe on the first day of the month following completion of twenty-six ¢26~ complete biweekly PaY periods or until 1,040 hours are worked in a classification listed in Appendix "A," whichever is sooner.
