2000-214RESOLUTION NO. 2000R-214 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETVVEEN THE ANAHEIM POLICE ASSOCIATION AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM WHEREAS, the Anaheim Police Association and the City of Anaheim have met and conferred over the transfer into the Association certain employees in classifications formerly represented by the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit; and WHEREAS, the Anaheim Police Association and the City of Anaheim are in agreement with the recommendations contained in said Letter of Understanding; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated September 22, 2000, between the Anaheim Police Association and the City of Anaheim, copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, are hereby approved. MAYbR Of T~I-~C~Y Of A~fl, HEIM ATTEST: C1T~' ~LEF~ OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVED AS TO FROM: iO~ ATTORI~E,~( OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM H:\STAFFREP\SF1977LN LETTER of UNDERSTANDING Between the ANAHEIM POLICE ASSOCIATION And the CITY of ANAHEIM The Anaheim Police Association ("APA") and the City of Anaheim ("CITY") have met and conferred over the transfer into the ASSOCIATION of certain employees in classifications formerly represented by the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit (specifically Detention Officer, Bailiff and Senior Detention Officer). The parties agree that all current terms and conditions of employment as negotiated and agreed to by the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit as of September 28, 2000 shall remain in full force and effect for employees employed as Detention Officers or Senior Detention Officers until specifically changed by the parties to this Agreement It is expressly the intent of the parties to preserve the current work schedule ("12/10 plan") of employees assigned to the Detention facility, and the current Sick Leave, Vacation, and Holiday benefits provided to employees in the classifications of Detention Officer and Senior Detention Officer. The parties further agree to the following: Grievances on behalf of employees in the classification of Detention Officer or Senior Detention Officer shall be processed under the provisions of Article 58 GRIEVANCE GENERAL of the Memorandum of Understanding between the CITY and the APA, and shall be subject to all limitations and restrictions contained therein, excepting that disputes regarding the interpretation and/or implementation of provisions of this Agreement may also be pursued through the grievance procedure.
