A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN THE ANAHEIM FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION
AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director met and conferred with officials and
employee representatives of the Anaheim Firefighters Association concerning a Letter of
Understanding that recommends alternative plans to the Employee/City Medical Plan as
required by Section 54.1111 of the Memorandum of Understanding; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Firefighters Association is in agreement with the
recommendation contained in said Letter of Understanding; and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the Letter of Understanding dated December 6, 1996
between the parties has been prepared and signed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best
interest of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that
the Letter of Understanding dated December 6, 1996 between the Anaheim Firefighters
Association, and the City of Anaheim, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by
reference herein, is hereby approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the

The Anaheim Firefighters Association (AFA), Local 2899. and the City of
Anaheim (ClTY~, have met and conferred, and have reached the following Agreement:
1, The AF^ a[~J CITY agree that the health plana r.=ommended by the Joint
Committee on Medical Programs to the City Manager and the City Council on
May 23, 1996, are acceptable alternative plans to the Employee/City Medical
Plan as rsquired by the Leffer of Understanding between AFA and CITY dated
August 23, 1994. The recommended plan structure wil'l'be implemented
effective January 1. 1997. for all active and re[ired employees.
AFA and CITY agree to amend Section 54.1111 of the Memorandum of
Understanding between the AFA and CITY to read as follows:
54.1111 ANAHEIM shall contribute towards the monthly cost of health
coverage to the various medical plans as follows:
Employoo l,~dical Plan not to exoced 110% ef K'~iser monthly

All Othor Noalth Plans not to excood 100% of Kaiser monthly
