A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A LOCAL ADVISORY
BOARD IN CONNECTION WITH THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF
JUSTICE ASSISTANCE, LOCAL LAW
ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANTS PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim wishes to apply for Block
Grant funds for the purpose of procuring equipment, technology, and
other material directly related to basic law enforcement functions;
and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice requires
the establishment of a Local Advisory Board (hereafter referred to
as the Board) by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Board will review the application for funding
under the Block Grants Program and make nonbinding recommendations
to the unit of local government for the use of funds received under
this program.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that a Local Advisory Board of five persons is
hereby established in the City of Anaheim, to consist of one
representative from each of the following: local law enforcement,
the local prosecutor's office, the local court system, the local
public school system, and a local nonprofit group with a recognized
interest in criminal justice and crime or substance abuse prevention
and treatment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police shall be
the Project Director under the Grant and is hereby authorized to
appoint the Board members for the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
