96-139 RESOLUTION NO. 96R-139 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO SUBMIT A GRANT PROPOSAL TO THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING, AND APPROVING THE ATTACHED GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the Anaheim City Council desires to undertake a certain project designated ~Project Take A S.T.A.N.D." to be funded in part from funds made available through the Suppression of Drug Abuse in Schools ("DSP") Program administered by the office of Criminal Justice Planning ("OCJP") . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Chief of Police of the City of Anaheim is authorized, on behalf of the City, to submit the attached proposal to OCJP and to sign on behalf of the City of Anaheim the attached Grant Award Agreement, which is hereby approved, and any extensions or amendments thereof. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim agrees to provide all matching funds required for said project (including any amendment thereof as approved by the City Council) under the Program and the funding terms and conditions of OCJP and that the cash match will be appropriated as required to the extent permitted by law. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim agrees that any liability arising out of the performance of this Grant Award Agreement, including civil court action for damages, shall be the responsibility of the grant recipient and the authorizing agency. The State of California and OCJP disclaim responsibility for any such liability. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to supplant expenditures controlled by the City Council.
