RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM REQUESTING MEMBERSHIP IN THE POWER
AGENCY OF CALIFORNIA; AGREEING TO BE BOUND BY
THE PROVISIONS OF THE JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT;
APPROVING THE SCHEDULING AND DISPATCHING
SERVICES AGREEMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE
PUBLIC UTILITIES GENERAL MANAGER TO EXECUTE
DOCUMENTS AND TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTIONS
REQUIRED FOR MEMBERSHIP.
WHEREAS, each of the cities of Anaheim, Azusa, Banning,
Colton and Riverside (cities) have entered into agreements to
acquire capacity and energy to serve its load, and integrated
such capacity and energy resources with the Southern California
Edison Company pursuant to 1990 Integrated Operations Agreements
(IOAs); and
WHEREAS, the IOAs require the Cities to perform certain
electronic scheduling and accounting functions; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Azusa, Banning, Colton and
Riverside have entered into a Joint Powers Agreement Creating the
Power Agency of California (PAC) in order to share the cost of
scheduling and accounting functions required for compliance with
the IOAs.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby
requests membership in PAC and agrees to be bound by the
provisions of the Joint Powers Agreement among the Cities of
Azusa, Banning, Colton and Riverside creating PAC, in the form
submitted to the City Council.
2. The Scheduling and Dispatching Services Agreement
between the Power Agency of California and the city of Anaheim,
in the form submitted to the City Council, is hereby approved and
the Public Utilities General Manager is hereby authorized, on
behalf of the City, to take any and all actions required for
membership in PAC, and to execute the Scheduling and Dispatching
Services Agreement and related documents in implementation
thereof.
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 25th day of June, 1996.
