95-172 RESOLUTION NO. 95R-172 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING THE FUND TRANSFER AGREEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS REQUESTED IN THE 1994/1995 TRANSIT CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT (T21) PROGRAM APPLICATION WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim entered into an agreement with AMTRAK on October 26, 1982, and expended an amount estimated at $1,300,000 to construct a rail passenger station as an integral part of the City-owned sports complex and land contiguous thereto; and WHEREAS, the ridership at this station has grown to make it one of the highest ridership stations along the Los Angeles-San Diego (LOSSAN) rail corridor; and WHEREAS, it is expected that this station's ridership will further increase; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim obtained a discretionary grant from the South Coast Air Quality Management District to implement Line 532, operated by the Orange County Transportation Authority, to connect the rail station with major employers in the area; and WHEREAS, ongoing construction of a second track along the LOSSAN corridor will further enhance commuter rail operations; and WHEREAS, the second track construction will render useless the existing station platform south of the existing track, and Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA) should provide for service during construction via new southside and northside platforms and a pedestrian underpass to connect the station with a new northside platform, to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has completed final engineering plans for these improvements as part of area planning and Transit Capital Improvement (TCI) funding application; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has been awarded $765,000 in 1993/1994 TCI funds, $1,741,000 in 1994/1995 TCI funds and $900,000 in 1995/1996 TCI funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim does hereby approve the Amendment to Fund Transfer Agreement for an additional $900,000 in TCI funding. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 3rd day of October, 1995.
