A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE
CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD
FOR A USED OIL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM AND
AUTHORIZING THE PUBLIC UTILITIES GENERAL
MANAGER TO EXECUTE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS AND
TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO
IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have
enacted the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act of 1991 that
provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and
maintaining local used oil management programs that encourage
recycling or appropriate disposal of used oil; and
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management
Board (Board) has been delegated the responsibility for the
administration of the Used Oil Opportunity Grant Program
(Program) within the state, including setting up necessary
procedures governing receipt by cities and counties of grants
under the Program; and
WHEREAS, the procedures established by the Board
require an grant recipient to certify, by resolution, acceptance
of a grant under the Program; and,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to accept the Grant and enter
into an agreement with the State of California for continued
implementation of a Used Oil Management Program (Program) for the
City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. Acceptance of a grant by the City from the California
Integrated Waste Management Board for a 1994/95 Used Oil
Recycling Block Grant in the amount of $91,279 and the grant
agreements are hereby authorized and approved.
2. The Public Utilities General Manager is hereby
authorized and empowered, on behalf of the City of Anaheim, to
execute the grant agreements and any related documents for the
Program and take any and all actions necessary to implement the
Program.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 9th day of May 1995.
