' . to d aV A .. .......`.....191 ..... s t ORDINANCE NO. 281 An Ordinance Prescribing the Manner in Which Food for Human Consumption and Cereals Shall be Displayed or Ex- hibited in the City of Anahelm, and Prescribing, a Penalty for the Vlolatlor Thereof. The Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheilh do ordain as follows:— Section I It stall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, either as owner, agent, employee, or otherwise, to place, store, keep, exhibit, sell, offer, or expose for sale,any fruit, berries, grain, cereals, vegetables or other food intended for hu- man consumption, upon or over any side- walk, street or highway, within the City of Anaheim; unless the same is so placed, stored, kept or exhibited at a distance of eighteen (18) inches or more from the surface of such sidewalk, street, or highway, and at a distance of not more than eighteen (18) inches'from the prop- erty line adjacent thereto. SECTION 2 It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation, either as owner, ag- ent, employee, or otherwise, to sell, ex- hibit, or give away, or to offer or ex- pose for sale, or to have or keep for sale, or to have or keep in possession, any fruit, berries, grain, cereals, vegetables or food produced or intended for human consumption, unless the same are so kept, and effectively protected from dirt, dust, flies, and other insects, and from animals, as to not become contam- inated thereby. SECTION 3 Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction there- of, shall be punished by a fine of not more than One hundred (100) Dollars or by imprisonment in the City Jail of said city for a period of not more than fifty (50) days, or by both such fine and im- prisonment. SECTION 4 All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 5 The City Clerk of the City of Ana- heim shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once in the "Anaheim Ga- zette," a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, published, and cir- culated in said city, and thirty days from and after its final passage it shall take effect and be in full force.
