Golf 2010/10/28 GOLF COMMISSION MINUTES October 28, 2010–10:00 a.m. Anaheim Hills Golf Course –Clubhouse Boardroom COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairman Don Heinbuch Commissioner Patty Gaby Commissioner Bud Schultz Commissioner Skip Keys COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Vice Chairman John McCulloch CITY STAFF PRESENT: Michael Lautenbach, Dave Johansen, Bob Johns and Eleanor Granflor VALLEY CREST PRESENT: Kevin Neal, Regional Golf Course Superintendent CALL TO ORDER Chairman Heinbuchcalled the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. PUBLIC COMMENTS -None to report. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Commissioner Schultzmade a Motion to approve the September 23, 2010Minutes. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Keys. Motion passed. ACTIVITY REPORTS A.Golf Superintendent Michael Lautenbach presented his reportand stated: Anaheim Hills Golf Course will host the OC Junior Golf Championship Tournament on Sunday, December 19, 2010. The participants will play 9 holes. Bob Johns, Toby Todd and Todd Shank workedwith the Anaheim Hills Golf Club and completed 99% of the out-of-bounds and hazard marking of Anaheim Hills Golf Course. Purchasing Division is currently reviewing the bid received by Valley Crest Golf Course Maintenance for the maintenance contract at both golf courses. Golf staff is working with JD Power on a new customer survey. B.Golf Course Superintendent Dave Johansen presented his report and stated the greens at Dad Miller Golf Course were aerified. C.Director of Golf Bob Johns presented his report. Bob Johns stated a meeting will be set-up with the Anaheim Hills Golf Club to discuss the communication issues between golf staff and the club. Bob Johns contacted the president and also wrote a letter to apologize for the miscommunication from his staff during the club’s tournament held atAnaheim Hills Golf Course. Golf Commission Minutes October 28, 2010 Page Two FINANCIAL REPORT Michael Lautenbach stated rounds and revenues increased at Anaheim Hills Golf Course and decreased at Dad Miller Golf Course. OLD BUSINESS CommissionerKeys questioned the status of the camera and monitor on hole #6 at Anaheim Hills Golf Course. Michael Lautenbach stated a new monitor with the correct cable fitting needs to be purchased. NEW BUSINESS A.2011 Meeting Calendar Commissioner Schultzmade aMotion to approve the 2011Golf Commission Meeting Calendar. The Motion was seconded by CommissionerKeys. Motion passed. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Keysmade a Motion, seconded by Commissioner Gaby, to adjourn the meeting to December 2, 2010 at 5:00 p.m., at Anaheim Hills Golf Course, Clubhouse Board Room. The Motion passed. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:34 a.m.
