RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM HOUSING AUTHORITY
AUTHORIZING PROVISION OF HOUSING COUNSELING
SERVICES AND FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR
APPROVAL AS A HOUSING COUNSELING AGENCY
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Housing Authority (the "Authority") is a public body,
corporate and politic, of the State of California, authorized to operate under the California
Housing Authorities Law:
WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 34312 authorizes the
Authority to provide counseling, referral and advisory services to persons and families of low or
moderate income in connection with the purchase, rental, occupancy, maintenance, or repair of
housing;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the National Housing Act, the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1974, and the Housing and Community Development Act of 1987, the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD") administers a Housing Counseling
Program (the "Program");
WHEREAS, as part of the Program, HUD approves private and public nonprofit
organizations as "Housing Counseling Agencies;" and
WHEREAS, the Authority desires to provide housing counseling services as an
approved Housing Counseling Agency under the Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Anaheim Housing Authority as
follows:
1. That the Authority is authorized to provide housing counseling services in its
area of jurisdiction.
2. That the Executive Director of the Anaheim Housing Authority is authorized
to file an application with HUD to become an approved Housing Counseling Agency under the
Program, and to take all actions necessary or desirable in connection with filing said application,
including, without limitation, signing all documents.
