64-681RESOLUTION NOo ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING A SEALED PROPO$~ AND AWARDING A CON'tRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR THE FURNISHING OF ALL PLANT~ LABOR~ SERVICES~ MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT AND ALL UTILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION~ INCLUDING POWER~ FUEL AND WATERs AND PERFORMING ALL WORK NECESSARY TO CONSTRUCT AND COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT: THE LINCOLN AVENUE MEDIAN ISLAND RECONSTRUCTION~ R X~ 996 FEE% WEST OF EUCLID STREET, IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM JOB NO 898. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin on__~st 27th and September 3_._1964 a notice inviting ~ealed pr'op~S~ls ~0r ~rnishing the fo'~lowing: Ail plant, labor:, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict ac- cordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the Office of the City Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement, to wit: The Lincoln Avenue Median Island Reconstruction, in Lincoln Avenue approximately 996 feet west of Euclid Street, in the City of ~aheim, consisting of excavation, haulaway and disposal; removal of existing asphaltic concrete, and Portland Cement Concrete curb; construction of A.C. pavement, aggregate base, Portland Cement Concrete curb and appurte- nant work as more particularly set forth in the plans and specifications on file in the Office of the City Clerk or City Engineer, Job No. 898. in accordance with the design, plans, profiles and specifications of said public improvememt on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim; and WHEREAS, said notice inviting sealed proposals for said public improvement did provide that sealed proposals would be received by the City of Anaheim at the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim up to the hour of 2~00 o~clock PoMo on the 10th day of _~, 1964 , for the furnishing of all plant~ labor, services, ~nd equi[ment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water~, and perfozming all work necessary to construct and complete in a good and workmanlike manner~ the public improvement hereinabove more particularly mentioned and described, and which notice did state and declare that pursuant to the provisions of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the City Council of the City of Anaheim had ascertained the prevailing rate of wages in the locality in which this type of labor is to be ~performed for each craft or type of work~ man or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and which wage scale is on file in the Offices of the City Clerk and City Engineer. WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim did receive the following sealed pr~oposals prior to 2~00 o~clock P~M~ on the 10th day of September ~ 1964 ~. in response to the notice aforesaid invit~sealed ~posal~, ~'~o wit~ NAME R. MURALT COMPANY TOTAL PRICE $5,949.80 6,037.35 6,910.25 7,277.40 AND WHEREAS, the City Engineer did thereupon examine and tabu- late said sealed proposals and did report to the City Council the re- sult of his examinat~on and tabulation~ and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the sealed proposal sub- mitted by R. J. NOBLE COMPANY~ P. O. Box 6207 Orange, California is the lowest responsible proposal submitted"for the furnish'lng of al'] plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and wa%er and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a 9ood and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings there- for on file tn the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the public improvement hereinabove mentioned and described, together with the appurtenances thereto, and as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals~ and that said proposal of ~aid above=named bidder should be accepted and a contract awarde~ to ~aid bidder in accordance therewith; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the above-mentioned sealed proposal is the lowest, responsible proposal received and that the per- son, firm or corporation submitting said proposal is a responsible person, firm or corporation and that the proposal submitted is the best suited and fitted for the public improvement to be constructed. NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim, that the sealed proposal submitte~ by ..R- J. NOBLE COMt~,,ANY, P. O. Bo~ 620, Orange.
