A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY' COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMININC THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT~ TO WIT:
THE BROOKHURST STREET SEWER ,IMFRQVEMENT; FROM
B__ALL ROAD TO APPROXIMATELY 9%8 FEET NORTH OF

AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT tN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS~ SPECI~
FICATIONS~ EICo; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
TiRE CITY CLERK TO PL~BLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS~ public convenience and necessity require the
¢onst~uction and completion of a public improvement in the City
o[ ~naheim~ to wit~
The Brookhurst Street Sewer Improvement, consisting
of the construction of 8 and 6-inch V.C.P. sewer
lines in Brookhurst Street from Ball Road to approxi-
mately 918 feet north of Ball Road, in the City of
Anaheim, including wyes, brick or precast concrete
manholes, Portland Cement Concrete removal and
replacement, curb and gutter removal and replacement,
resurfacing, sheeting, trenching, backfill, flooding,
earthwork, and appurtenant work as more particularly
set forth in the plans and specifications on file
in the Office of the City Clerk or City Engineer,
Job No. 1302.
g\!D W~REA$~ the City Council instructed the Public
_~k~~,~t._ to prepare detailed designs,
~ drawings a~d'specifications, and estimates of
quantit:ies and costs and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement~ and
WHEREAS, sa~d Public Works Department has
prepared said detailed d~-~gns~ ~a~s~ profiles, drawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and 'has submitted the ssme to the City Council~ and
WHEREAS~ the City Council finds that the detailed
designs~ plans, profiles~ drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering prac~ice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Amahei.m and the citizens and resi-
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved~
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
cf the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
~ent hereinabove mentioned and described, be, and the same
are hereby, approved amd adopted as prepared by said_~
_Works Department o
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
~repared by said Public Works Department and hereby
~pp~roved, and such addenda, or modifications thereto as may be
~pproved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
Ci. ty of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
~or the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
~t~ic~ accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
Cr,~wings and specifications as prepared by said Public
Works Department , the public improvement hereinabove
~i~i~ne~ and described, and fixing the 10th day of
Se_ptember , 19 64 at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as
Y~e~ an--~6r for t-~g opening of said bids at the City
Coup.cil Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
~h~t said notice shall be published twice, the first of which
publications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date
fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
~hall be at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
b~dder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
wi~h the City of .Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
~e City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
installation and completion of said public improvement herein-
above mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
~d specifications prepared by said Public Works Department
t~he notice inviting sealed p~oposals, this resolution and all
applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the
State of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
iasurance in the amounts and within the time required by law,
~ specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
