A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT~ TO WIT:
THE IMPROVEMENT OF SYCAMORE STREET. FROM APPROXI-
_MATELy 148 FEET EAST OF ORANGE STREET TO APPROXI-
~ 4 FEE EA~OF ORANGE STREET, IN THE CITY

AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING I'HE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM~
PROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS~ SPECI~
F[CAI~IONS~ EI'Co; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, public convenience and necessity require the
constzuct:ion and completion of a public improvement in the City
o! Anaheim~ to wit~
The Improvement of ~
Sycamore Street, from approximately
148 feet east of Orange Street (A.T. & S.F.R.R.) to
approximately 4 feet east of Orange Street, in the City
of Anaheim, consisting of excavation, including haulaway
and disposal; construction of A.C. pavement, Portland
Cement Concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, retaining
wall and catch basin, and R.C.P. culvert; removal of
Portland Cement Concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk and
inlet box; import borrow, and appurtenant work as
more particularly set forth in the plans and speci-
fications on file in the Office of the City Clerk or
City iCngineer, Job No. 896.
A~D WFJ~REAS~ the City Council instructed the ~ublic
j~_ork_s_Depar, tment to prepare detailed designs~
plans, profiles~ ~rawi~gs an-~specifications, and estimates of
quantities and costs and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS, said~_o~k~__Department has
prepared said detailed designs~ plans~'"profiles, drawings and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted ~:he same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs~ plans, profiles~ drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned, are in accordance with good
engineering pract:ice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of A~aheim and the citizens and resi-
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
i'mprovement and should be approved.
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
~ent hereinabove mentioned and described, be, and the same
ara hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
Works Department o
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans~ profiles, drawings and specifications as
pr~red by said Public Works Department and hereby
~pproved~ and such addenda or modifications thereto as may be
~pproved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
tc p~blish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
~quipment~ and all utilities and transportation, including
p~wer, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete, im a good and workmanlike manner, in
~tr~c~ accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
~r.~wi~gs a~d specifications as prepared by said Public Works
Department , the public improvement hereinabove
~iomed and described, and fixing the 3rd day of
~r , 1964 , at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as
r~h~ d~te ~n--d-~ur for t-]~e opening of said bids at the City
C~u~cii Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
~at said motice shall be published twice, the first of which
E~b~ications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date
~ixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
~ha~].l be at least five (5) days apart°
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
wi~h the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
r:he City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
insralla~ion and completion of said public improvement herein~
abo've mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
.~nd specifications prepared by said Public Works Department
the notice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution and all
~pp!icable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the
$tate of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
i'asurance in the amounts and within the time required by law,
a~ specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
