RESOLUTION NO. 64R-569 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM LEVYING A SPECIAL TAX FOR THE FREEWAY PARK HIGHWAY LIGHT- ING DISTRICT FOR THE YEAR 1964-65. WHEREAS~ the Freeway Park Highway Lighting District was established as a County Highway Lighting District at a time when the area was a portion of the unincorporated County area; and WHEREAS, all of the territory of the Freeway Park Highway Lighting District was included within the City of Anaheim by reason of annexation; and WHEREAS, the Streets and Highways Code provides in Section 19271 that upon inclusion of all of the territory of a highway lighting district within an incorporated city, that the city legislative body shall have all of the powers and perform all of the duties granted to or imposed upon the Board of Supervisors of the county in which the district is located and shall carry out the provisions of the Highway Lighting District Act to the same purpose and extent as if originally constituted the governing body thereof; and WHEREAS, Section 19181 of the Streets and Highways Code provides that the governing body shall levy a special tax upon all of the taxable property within the district at the equalized valuation thereof sufficient to raise the amount of estimate of the cost of maintaining the district for the ensuing fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Superintendent of Streets has estimated the cost of maintaining the District for the ensuing fiscal year 1964-65 will amount to $1,050.00; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Superintendent of Streets has estimated that a levy of 22¢ per $100 assessed valuation will be a sufficient levy to pay the estimated cost of maintenance of the District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the estimate of the cost of maintenance of the Director of Public Works and Superintendent of Streets in the amount of $1,050.00 is found to be a correct estimate of cost~ and the estimate of the necessary special tax levy against the property in the District in the amount of 22¢ per $100 assessed valuation is found to be the required levy to cover the estimated cost of maintenance. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a levy of 22¢ per $100 Of assessed valuation is hereby established as a special tax levy for the maintenance of the Freeway Park Highway Lighting District, and that this special tax levy shall be collected from all property within said Freeway Park Highway Light- ing District, the exact parcels of which are shown on a list attached here- to and made a part of this resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Finance Director be, and is hereby authorized and directed to file with the County Auditor of the County of Orange, on or before August 10, 1964, a certified copy of this resolution and a certified copy of the list of parcels attached hereto; the County Auditor is authorized and requested to enter this special tax levy on the County tax rolls opposite the parcels of land and add the amount of the levy to the next regular tax bill levied against each of said parcels for municipal purposes. -1- this THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me 4th day of August 1964.
