AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMEN~ TO WIT:
THE CONSTRUCTION OF A STORM DRAIN IN PORTIONS

AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM,~
PROVE~.NT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS~ SPECI~
FICATIONS: EI'Co; AND AUTHORI. ZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY CLERK TO PLiBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS~ public convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public improvement in the City
ol ~nah~im,~ to wit~
The construction of a storm drain in Dale Avenue
from the Carbon Creek Channel south to Broadway,
and in Broadway from Dale Avenue east to the
Broadway-Gilbert Street intersection, in the City
of Anaheim, consisting of the construction of
96, 93 and 90-inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe
(Alternate 8'-0" x 6'-9", 7'-9" x 6'-8" and
7'-6" x 6'-4" Reinforced Concrete Box) 45 and 36-
inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe, inlet to Channel,
manholes, junction structures, parallel sanitary
sewers, catch basins, A. C. pavement, including
backfill, flooding and sheeting of mainline and
lateral trenches, and appurtenant work as more
particularly set forth in the plans and
specifications on file in the Office of the City
Clerk or City Engineer, Job No. 5010.
AND WPfEREAS~ the City Council instructed the Public
Works D.e~a~tmen~t . .~ to prepare detailed ~gns~
~~~ ~ ~ ~e~ ar~wlngs an-~specifications, and estimates of
quentin;les and costs and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public., improvement; and
WHEREAS, said Public Works Department has
prepared said detailed
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted t~he same to the City Council~ and
WHEREAS~ the Ci[y Council finds that the detailed
designs~ plans~ profile~? drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned~ are in accordance with good
~-zngineeri'ng pract~ice and are adequate to serve the needs and
raqu. iremen[s of the City of Anaheim and [he citizens and resi~
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended~
and that nhey are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved.
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
~ent hereinabove mentioned and described, be, and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
~_Work~ DeDartment o
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
p~.ep~red by said Public Works Department and hereby
~pproved, and such addenda or modifications thereto as may be
~pproved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
Ci~t? of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
~c publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
cor~struct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
stric~ accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
Crowings and specifications as prepared by said Public
Works Department , the public improvement '~ereinabove
m~!~tioned and described, and fixing the llth day of
June , 1964 , at the hour of 2'00 o'clock P.M. as
'~7~d-ate and hour f~e opening of said bids at the City
Cc. up~cii Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
'~??.~t said ~.otice shall be published twice, the first of which
~abiications shall, be at least ten (10) days prior.to the date
fi~ed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
~'na~]i be at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
will the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
'~i~,e~ City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
!r~stallation and completion of said public improvement herein-
~bcve mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
~nd specifications prepared by said Public Works Department
;:ne notice inviting sealed proposals', this resolution and 'ail
applicable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the
Sta~e of California, and shall be require.d to pos.t bonds and
i'asurance in the amounts and within the tzme requzred by law,
~.~ specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
,~. ~orm approved by the City Attorney.
