RESOLUTION NO. 64E-351
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS
FOR THE SETTLEMENT OF ANTI-TRUST CLAIMS AGAINST
THE GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, WESTINGHOUSE
ELECTRIC CORPORATION, AND KUHLMAN ELECTRIC
COMPANY. ·
WHEREAS, the Federal Government indicted The General
Electric Company, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, and
Kuhlman Electric Company, among others, for violations of
federal anti-trust laws in the sale of electrical supplies to
utilities, with violations occurring from 1956 through 1959;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim purchased such electri-
cal supplies during the 1956 through 1959 period and has claims
against the aforementioned companies as a result of said
purchases; and
WHEREAS, the companies have made offers of settlement
on said claims; and
WHEREAS, it appears, after investigation of the facts
in this matter, that said offers of settlement should be
accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City
of Anaheim be and they are hereby authorized to execute agree-
ments for and on behalf of the City to settle the aforementioned
claims.
