A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM RECALLING THE OUTSTANDING
ACHIEVEMENTS OF WALTER KNOTT AND COMMENDING
HIM UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RECEIPT OF THE
FIRST ANNUAL "ORANGE COUNTY MANAGER OF THE
YEAR" AWARD.
WHEREAS, most achievements of significance have
their roots grounded in humble beginnings; and
WHEREAS, a small berry stand representing the early
agricultural efforts of a growing county has been transformed
by imagination, ingenuity, perseverance, hard work and a
seventh sense of sound management into an area of national
renown; and
WHEREAS, paralleling the conversion of a berry farm,
equal devotion to service, progressive forethought and untiring
community effort have brought a humble farm boy to a position
of honor, respect and esteem in his community and in his nation;
and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his achievements and his
continued efforts in the field of service to his fellow man,
he has been designated as the "Orange County Manager of the
Year."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that it recognize and commend, and it does
hereby recognize and commend, Walter Knott for his outstanding
ability and unselfish service in the field of management and
the overwhelming influence he has demonstrated toward the
advancement of Orange County.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim does hereby join with others in its con-
currence in, and its congratulations for, the designation of
Walter Knott as recipient of the First Annual Award of "Orange
County Manager of the Year."
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
