64-259RESOLUTION NO. 64R-259 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF COMFORT STATIONS AT THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE, JOB NO. 839~ AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PROCEED WITH SAID IbfPROVEMENT. WHEREAS, heretofore, to wit, on the 17th day of March, 1964, the City Council of the City of Anaheim adopted Resolution No. 64R-167 finding and determining that public convenience and necessity required the construction of a public improvement, to wit, construction and completion of comfort stations at the Anaheim Municipal Golf Course, in the City of Anaheim, Job No. 839; and WHEREAS, the City Council did authorize and direct the City Clerk to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals for the furnishing of all plant, labor, ser- vices, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transpor- tation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, the said public improvement, and did fix the 9th day of April, 1964, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as the date and hour for the opening of bids; and W~HEREAS, only one bid was received by the City of Anaheim at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 9th day of April, 1964, in response to the notice published by the City Clerk on March 26 and April 2, i964; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said bid is in excess of the estimate of the City Engineer of the cost of said public improvement, and that said bid should be rejected; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that no further notice should be published inviting sealed proposals for said job, but that the City Manager should be authorized to procure the neces- sary material and proceed with the construction of said comfort stations in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by the Public Works Department. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that all bids received at the office of the City Clerk up to the hour designated, in response to the notice published inviting sealed proposals for the construction and completion of comfort stations at the Anaheim Municipal Golf Course, in the City of Anaheim, Job No. 839, be, and the same are hereby rejected.
