WHEREAS:,> public convenience and necessity require the
const'ruct:i, on and completion of a public, improvement in the City
o ~i Anaheim~ to wit~ o
"~zho_ Poik~ Tyler anc!_ Coo'~idge_ Avenues Sewer
Improvement-_, consisting of the construction of
g-inch V.C.P. sewer lines in Polk~ Tyler and
Coolidge Avenues from Grand Avenue to Western
Avenue~ in the City of Anaheim~ including
excavat-~on, oack~:~.!l and ~__ooding, construction
of manholes, drop manholes~ wyes and 4-inch
house connections, resurfacing~ and appurtenant
work as more particularly set forth in the plans
and specifications on file in the Office of the
City Clerk or City Engineer~ Job No. 1275.
AND WP~REA$~ the City Council instructed the Public
Works Department to prepare detailed ~gns~
~~~ pro~e'[~rawings an~specifications~ and estimates of
quantir_:ies and co~ts and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of :said public improvement~ and
WHEREAS, said Public Works Depar__.tment has
prepared said detailed designs:? ~]~ profiles, drawings and
specifications .for the construction of said public improvement
and has sub'mitte.',d the same to the City Council~ and
WHEREAS~ the City' Council finds that the detailed
designs? plans~ profiles? drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned?, are in accordance with good
engineering prac[ic.e and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi-
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved°
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
~f the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
~ent hereinabove mentioned and described, be, and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said. Pu~b!i~c
Works_ Department o
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
me~t s'~all be constructed in accordance with said detailed
de,,signs~ plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prspared by said Pub%%c Works Department and hereby
~pproved, and such adde~dj 6'r-modi-fic~tions thereto as may be
~,proved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment~ and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
ccr~struct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
$~t~',ict accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
C'~,~wings and specifications as prepared by said Public Works
.D~partment , the public improvement hereinabove
~me?~t:ioned and described, and fixing the 23rd day of
~ A~i~l ~, 19 64 , at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as
7~he d~e a~our for the opening of said bids at the City
C;~uncii Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
:~h.~t said notice shall, be published twice, the first of which
t~biications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date
~ixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
~ha]i be at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FI~THER RESOLVED that the successful
~idder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
wi~h the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
~.he City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
in~staltation and completion of said public improvement herein-
above mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
~nd specifications prepared by said Public Works Department
~he '~otice inviting sealed proposals, this resolution and all
~pp~!icable City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the
State of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
insurance in. the amounts a~d within the time required by law,
~ specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
~, form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
