ANAHEIM FINDING AND DE!ERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
VENIENCE &MD NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION' OF A PUBLIC IMPRO~EMENT~ TO WIT:
THE HELENA STREET SEWER IMPROVEM~_NT, FROM OAK
STREET TO THIRD STREET, IN THE CITY O_F ANAHEIM,

SEALED FROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCI~ION THEREOF°
WHER]~AS~ public convenience and necessity require the
construct~ion and completion of a public improvement in the City
o~ Anaheim? to wit°
The Helena Street Sewer Improvement, consisting
of the construction of an 8-inch V.C.P. sewer line
in Helena Street, from Oak Street to Third Street,
in the City of Anaheim, including excavation, modi-
fication of existing manholes, backfill and flood-
ing; resurfacing, and appurtenant work as more
particularly set forth in the plans and specifica'-
tions on file in the Office of the City Clerk or
City Engineer, Job No. 1279.

Works Department to prepare detailed deSigns~
~~ pro~.~is~ drawings an~spscifications, and estimates of
quanti.~ies and. co~sts and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement; and
WHEREAS~ said Public ~prks _Dg_partm~nt_ has
prepared said detailed d~~~'~ pr~l-~s, ~~and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitte~d the same to the City Council; and
WHEREAS~ the City Council :finds that the detailed
designs?; pl, ans~ profiies~ drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned~, are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi~
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved°
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
~ent hereinabove mentioned and described, be, and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
~_W_ork$ Department o "
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
ment shall be constructed, in accordance with said detailed
d. esigns~, plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
pr.~red by said ..Public Works Department and hereby
.~pproved, and such addenda or modifications thereto as may be
.~pproved prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipment~ and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
cor:struct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
~t',rict accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
drawings and specifications as prepared by said Public Works
_Dgpar_tment , the public improvement hereinabove
mer~tioned and described, and fixing the 26th day of
,.arch ~ 19 64 , at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. as
~.~ date~ur f~e opening of said bids at the City
Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
~Lhat said notice shall, be published twice, the first of which
l~ublications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date
~ixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
~ha]i be at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FI~THER RESOLVED that the successful
~i~dder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
wi~'h the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
'the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
in. srallation and completion of said public improvement herein-
above mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
and specifications prepared by said Public Works D.epartment
the '~.otice inviting sealed proposals, this resolutzon and all
~ ~,"~'~icable. pp,~. City Ordinances or Code Sections and the laws of the
Stare of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
insurance in the amounts and within the time required by law,
a~ specified in the notice inwiting sealed proposals, and in
~ form approved by the City Attorney.
