A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 'CITY OF
ANAHEIM FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PUBLIC CON-
~<ENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE CONSTRUCTION
AND COMPLETION OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT~ TO WIT:
FURNISHING AND INSTALLING TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND

AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF;
AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID PUBLIC IM-
PROVEMENT iN ACCORDANCE WITH SAID PLANS~ SPECI~
FICATIONS~ ETCo; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CIT~~ CLERK TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION THEREOF.
WHEREAS~ public convenience and necessity require the
construction and' completion of a public improvement in the City
of Anaheim~ to wit°
Furnishing and installing traffic signals and
safety lighting at the intersection of Broadway
and Olive Street, in the City of Anaheim,
together with all appurtenant work, as more
particularly set forth in the plans and
specifications on file in the Office of the
City Engineer or City Clerk, Job No. 827.
A~N'D WHEREAS~ the City Council instructed the Public
. Works .DeDa~ ..... to prepare detailed de~'ignS~'"
Plan$~ pr6file$ ~ drawi~$- and spec ific at ions ~ and estimates of
quantities and costs .and make necessary surveys for the con-
struction of said public improvement~ and
WHEREAS~ said Public ,Works Department has
prepared said detailed de~'i'~~' ~lansT"p~%{il&s, 'drawlings' and
specifications for the construction of said public improvement
and has submitted the same to the City Council; and
WHE~AS~ the City Council finds that the detailed
designs ~ plans, profiles ~ drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned~ are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anaheim and the citizens and resi-
dents in said area for the purposes for which they are intended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved°
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of th~ City of Anaheim that the d~tailed designs, plans,
profiles, drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment h~r~inabove mentioned and described, be, and the same
ar~ hereby, approved amd adopted as prepared by said
~_Public Works D~p~rtm~nt ~ . o
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
d~sign~, ~lans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said Public. Works Department ~ and hereby
approved, and such add~n'da or modifications thereto as may be
~pprov~d prior to the awarding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and sh~ is hereby, authorized and directed
~ publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
~quipment, and all utilities and transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
co~struct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
stric~ accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
d~rawings amd specifications as prepared by said Public Works
De~ar_tment , the public improvement ~erei~ab°'Ve"
m~tion~d and d~sCribed, and fixing the 6th day of
F.ebruary , 19 64 at ~he hour of 2'o00'0~clock P.M. as
th~ date and~hOur for-~~ opening of said bids at the City
C~umci~ Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
=~hat'. said motic~ shall be .published twice, the first of which
publications shall be at l~ast ten (10) days prior.to the date
fi×ed f~r the opening of bids, and that said publications
~hmll b~ at least five (5) days apart.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be r~quir~d to enter into a contract
w£~ th~ City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
installation and compl~tio~ of said public improvement her~in-
ab~v~ mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
and sp~.cifications prepared by said Public Works DePartment
th~ no~ice inviting ~ealed proposals'"' this '~esolutiOn and all-
applicable City Ordinances or C~d~ S~ctions and the laws of th~
Stat~ of California, and shall b~ required to post bonds and
insurance in th~ amounts and within the time required by law,
as specified in th~ notic~ inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
