WHEREAS 9 publicr' convenience and necessity require the
construction and completion of a public. improvement in the City
of Ao.ah€im~) to wit 0
The Katella Avenue Street Improvement, from approximately
1419 feet east of State College Boulevard to approximately
2880 feet west of State College Boulevard, in the City of
Anaheim, consisting of excavation, including compacted
embankment, haulaway and disposal; construction of 2", 3"
and variable thic kness A.C. pavement and A.C. berms; 6"
aggregate base; P.C.C. curb and gutter and driveways;
two catch basins; 27" and 33" R.C.P. culverts; removal
and reconstruction of irrigation line, including risers,
stand~ipes and breathers; relocation of fence; installation
of 11 ' x 18" C.M.P. culverts and Type "L" paddle boards;
adjustment of manholes and water wIve boxes to grade;
plugging of a well; drilling and developing a well;
relocation of pump shed; relocation and installation of
traffic detector pads; removal of tree stumps; removal
and salvage of deep well pump; installation of deep well
pump; removal and disposal of miscellaneous items, and
appurtenant work as more particularly set forth in the
plans and specifications on file in the Office of the
City Clerk or City Engineer, Project No. 102-A.

WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the detailed
designs~ plans!, profi.1es51 drawings and specifications for said
public improvement above mentioned~') are in accordance with good
engineering practice and are adequate to serve the needs and
requirements of the City of Anahei.m and the ci.tizens and resi-
dents in s,aid area for the purposes for which they are i.ntended,
and that they are adequate for the construction of said public
improvement and should be approved 0

NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the detailed designs, plans,
profiles~ drawings and specifications for said public improve-
ment hereinabove mentioned and described, be, and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted as prepared by said Public
Works Department
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said public improve-
ment shall be constructed in accordance with said detailed
designs~ plans, profiles, drawings and specifications as
prepared by said Public Works Department and hereby
~pproved~ and such addenda or modifications thereto as may be
2pproved prior to the aw.arding of bids therefor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the
City of Anaheim be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed
to publish a notice according to law, inviting sealed proposals
for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and
equipmentSJ and all. utilities a.nd transportation, including
power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to
construct and complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in
strIct accordance with said detailed designs, plans, profiles,
d~'awings and specifi.cations as prepared by said Public Works
Department , the public improvement hereinabove
mentioned and described, and fixing the 23rd day of
January ~ 1964 , at the hour of 2~OO o'clock PsM. a.s
the, d~te and hour for the opening of said bids at the City
Counr:il Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, and
!:~h.dlt said notice sha.ll be published twice, the first of which
publications shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date
fixed for the opening of bids, and that said publications
shall be at least five (5) days aparts
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the successful
bidder or bidders shall be required to enter into a contract
':N'l the City of Anaheim in the manner and form approved by
the City Attorney of the City of Anaheim for the construction,
Lc.scallation and completion of said public improvement herein-
.aLba,,€', mentioned and described, in accordance with the plans
€ind specifications prepared by said Public Works Department
the notic,e inviting sealed proposa.ls, this resolution and a.ll
a.pplica.ble City Ordinan.ces or Code Sections and the laws of the
State of California, and shall be required to post bonds and
insurance in the: amounts and within the time required by law,
Bi,S specified in the: notice inviting sealed proposals, and in
a form approved by the City Attorney.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
