DRIVE ANNEXAIION; The City Planning Commission at its meeting held Monday~ June 15, 1953, voted that the Commission does not recommend the proposed Romneya Drive Annexation~ as presently outlined~ in view of the fact that there might be a tendency to block further annexations to the east and to the north. RICHARD BRACE took exception to the statement~ that it would create~an island by this action, and favored the annexation proceedings, and further stated that the development of the territory was now in process~ and requested the City Council to continue the annexation proceedings. SUBDIVIDER was also present and reported his interest in the annexation proceedings, and that extensive surveys has been made and plans for the submission in %he %~mmiZory are in the process of completion. BRACE stated that he thought, and the Subdivider also stated, that in their opinion~it would create more favorable opinion to annexation because the people' across the street and others were very much interested in the use of their land for subdivision purposes. MAYOR PEARSON stated that the Council would check into the Romneya Drive Annexation for further consideration of taking in this territory as uninhabited territory. Lemon Street- requesting that "Parking requirements" be waived~ and permission be granted to erect a 12,000 square foot building on Lot 52, Original City Lotg, for a Sunday School and Office building. Public Hearing was held by City Planning Commission, June 15~ 1953 at which time~ Resolution No. 54 was passed and adopted granting said variance. Further, the first five years average rate for city properties established in July, 1950, at the rate of'$1.259, reflects a reduction of $2.19 per $1,000. during the past three years. Renewal is requested by the several agents. (Letter of transmittal was approved by the City Attorney). The Administrative Officer submitted request by John W.-Vale, Jr. 1045 No. Palm Street, bidding for the Fire Insurance coverage of the cityts properties; giving to the City a 10% deviation from published rates, and offering a return divident based on present earning experience of 15%. ~' This matter was held over to June 30th, for further discussion. ORANGE COUNTY FAIR EXHIBIT: On motion by Councilman Heying, seconded by Councilman Wisser, Harry Macres's proposal for exhibit, the theme, "looking toward the future" for the City of Anaheim's Display at the Fair, at the estimated cost of $500.00 was accepted. MOTION CARRIED. TRAFFIC SIGNAL: 4-Way Traffic Actuated Signal, as approved by the State Division of Highway, to be located at Euclid and Lincoln Avenue~ cost of signal to the State, $8,000.00 and the cost to the City, approximately $8,000.00 of which the County of Orange should share one fourth of the total cost, or $4,000.00. 46L City Hall~ Anaheim~ California,i June 23~ 1953- 8:00 P.M. ANtERICAN LEGION POST 72- OONCESSION: Request for .permission to operate the concession at the La Palina Park during the regular season and play-off of the Post Junior American Legion Base Ball Team; proceeds form the concessions to be held in a special fund to be used only in connection with the Post Junior Base Ball Team. Said request was granted on motion by Councilman Heying, seconded by Council- man Van Wagoner. MO/ION CARRIED. TRANSFER OF RINDS: RECREATION: Transfer of $4;000.00 from the General Fund to the Recreation Fund~ as an advance on the 1953-54 appropriation to cover outstanding billings due May and 3une.
