MOTION CARRIED. ~REQUEST: JUNIOR CHAMt~'R OF cON~RCE: Mr. Casto and Mr. Heinz addressed the Council in reference to the use of La Palina Base Ball Park for the staging of .Anaheim Community Yair~ as sponsored by the Anaheim Junior Chamber of Commerce. Councilman Heying stated that it appeared to be impossible to rearrange schedules in the short time allowed and moved thai the mat~er be taken under con- sideration. Councilman Wisser seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED. QONIINUED PUBLIC HEARING: LOARA-CRE$CENI ANNEXATION: The Cterk~s Statement as to the number of parcels £or and against the proposed matter of annexation was challenged by several persons present who were in opposition to the continuance of said annexat- ion proceedings. Said application was denied without prejudice on motion by Councilman Wi sser, seconded by Councilman Heyin9. MOTION CARR/ED. CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING: F-52-53-15.; Area in the vicinity of the Horace Mann School. Petition presented by Mr. Batmer, signed by 26 residents of Julianna Street opposing the frontage of La Palma Avenue as R-3 was submitted and read. ~ Dr. Kersten was present furthering his request to place his property in the R-3 Zone. Mr. Sheppard was present favoring the action of the. City Planning Commission, a s taken Dick Herman, on North Citron Street favored the City Planning Commission's recommendations. Mr. Olsen~ a resident on North Citron Street wanted his lot included in the R-2 Zone. Councilman Wisser moved to accept the recommendations of the City Planning Commission~ as outlined by their Resolution No. 50. Councilman He¥ing .seconded the mo ti on. MOTION CARRIED. BUSINESS OPERATION COMPLAINT: Report was made on the complaint of Alvin S. Barnett, 1626 E. Santa Ana St., as to the operation of an Upholstery business at 1716 E. Santa Ana Street by C. W. Petitt. Mr. Barnettts objection was %hat his property is up for sale for build- ing purposes, and that the people objected to the business be adjacent. The lots in this neighborhood are zoned R-1. NOTS: Mr. Barnett appeared and called upon Mr. Mungall on Wednesday, July 15, 1953, and stated that a building permit issued Mrs. Williams, owner of the property occupied by Mr. Petitt is being used in connection with the operation of his upholstery shop in the garage, and that there is an expansion of the business and further that some three or~ four people work at the shop on Saturdays and Sundays which removed it from the classification of "one man home operation". Neighborhood Business. Mr. Mungall is further investigating.
